As many of us know, we are home to rich American history over the years, and not many events in our nation’s history were as important as the Civic War. Each year, the Cedar Creek Battle Foundation helps put on a reenactment of the famous battle. So when is the 2017 Battle of Cedar Creek reenactment in Middletown, VA? 

Historical Events Near Winchester VA 

This year’s reenactment will mark the 153rd anniversary of the famous Battle of Cedar Creek. In fact, this was the largest battle to be fought in the Shenandoah Valley area, and is an important battle during the Civil War. Each year, the reenactment is held on the original battlegrounds located in Middletown, VA, and is celebrated by plenty of spectators and reenactors for the event.

At the event, attendees will find battles being replicated on both Saturday, Oct. 14, and Sunday, Oct. 15, with the event starting at 9am on Saturday and ending at 4pm on Sunday. Along with the battle reenactment, the event will also offer gifts, crafts, food and drinks, music, as well as much more to see and do. People can also learn about the history of the Battle of Cedar Creek and the Shenandoah Valley area with the various educational activities at the reenactment.
