What year of Honda Accord should I get?
The Highest-Rated Honda Accord Model Years
The Honda Accord has a reputation for being a—and often the—top contender for best sedan. With its balance of sporty looks, lively performance, economical cost, and much more, it’s not hard to see why. What is hard is figuring out which model year is the right one to buy.
We’ve narrowed it down to two generations of Accord, both of which are equally excellent according to critics and owners. The model year range spans eight years, giving you plenty of options. Take a look below to see which year of Honda Accord you should get.

9th Generation: 2013 – 2017
While the Accord through the 2000s was excellent, its reliability scores weren’t quite as good as the Toyota Camry. That all changed when the 9th generation was released. The Accord received updated styling, more horsepower, and—for the first time—a CVT option, alongside the automatic and manual transmissions. Critics from reputable sites like Consumer Reports, US News and World Report, Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book, Car and Driver, and MotorTrend consistently rated this generation of Accord models in the 4.5 to 5-star range. Owners also rate it highly, with little more than required maintenance necessary on models still on the road today. The 9th-gen Accord is available as both a four-door sedan and a two-door coupe.
10th Generation: 2018 – Present

It was going to be difficult for the 10th-gen Accord to live up to its 9th-gen siblings, but it has done so effortlessly. Just like the 9th generation Accord, the 10th-gen one has consistently garnered praise from and topped lists for all the same critics. Owners love it as well, with most user ratings averaging the 4.7 to 4.8 range. The newer generation also means that it comes with more standard tech, be those safety features or things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It should be noted, however, that the 10th generation Accord is only available as a four-door sedan.
