What Kind of Activities can Children do on a Long Trip?

Whether it’s a long trip, family vacation or just visiting family on the holidays, kids can be difficult to keep entertained on a lengthy car ride, even with some of the newer convenient and entertaining technologies at our disposal, sometimes some simple car games can help pass the time of a long trip. So what kind of activities can children do on a long trip?

As technologies in newer vehicles continue to grow rapidly, so does the technology in daily lives. While video game consoles today are often complete media hubs for our favorites games, shows and movies, portable video game systems are still very popular. In fact, giving a child a system such as a Nintendo 3DS is a great way to occupy their time on a long trip.

Telephone

The game that gets more fun with the more people you’re traveling with, the simple game of telephone is sure to offer some laughs. One person will start by quietly whispering a sentence or story into another passenger’s ear, and then that person will pass on the story they heard to the next person. Once it comes down to the last person, they have to repeat the story they were told, which can sometimes hilariously be nowhere close to the original story.

Spelling Bee

Sometimes a little competition can be a good time. For those looking to have fun with their kids, as well as continuing to help them to learn, having a spelling bee competition in the car is a fun way for fun. Parents can give their kids some words to spell, and kids can do the same back to their parents in a fun competition.

Those were just a few of the kind of activities children can do on a long trip.
