What are the Biggest Causes of Stress on the Road? 

There are a lot of things in life can stress us out. However, whether you’re driving to work or going on trips with your family, a feeling of road rage can build up as stress continues to grow on the road. Since stress can be caused by plenty of different factors, what are the biggest causes of stress on the road?

With that, many would assume that long trips with impatient children or crying babies could be one of the leading causes of stress. However, a recent survey conducted by Chevrolet showed that 93 percent of parents said they like or live taking road trips with their families, with 53 percent claiming to love the trips. 90 percent of parents also agreed that their children also enjoy taking road trips with their families. 

Only 26 percent of parents said that they become stressed by hearing the infamous “are we there yet?” phrase, and just 31 percent of parents find it stressful to entertain their children over the course of a long trip. What makes drivers the most stressed out on the road is traffic and unexpected delays. In fact, 63 percent of parents agreed that was the most stressful part of a family trip.

How to Counter Road Rage 

The same Chevrolet study found that 56 percent of parents in the U.S. say that having a form of Wi-Fi or internet connectivity would make family road trips more entertaining. In fact, parents bring along 6.6 different mobile devices on average for their family road trips.
