2015-2016
The 2015-16 model years for the Honda CR-V are great. They scored top marks for reliability, safety, handling, and interior space. Even the AWD models had excellent fuel economy, with a 26-city/32-highway MPG rating. The 2015 and 2016 models feature a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). When it comes to downsides, these two years had few complaints. The chief gripes owners had were a stiffer ride quality than previous model years and road noise, which is a common issue for most CR-V models, regardless of the year.
2005-2006
If you’re looking for a cheap vehicle, the 2005-06 model years are excellent options. They have 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a 5-speed automatic transmission. They get up to 23-city/29-highway MPG. Now, 15 years later, these models are still hold up. Drivers have praised their smooth engines, reliability, and great fuel economy. They were very few complaints for these model years. The biggest one was, again, road noise. The other notable complaint was the side-swing rear hatch, which can be impractical in some situations.
