Race into the Holiday Season with These fun Marathons

Turkey Trots and Thanksgiving Marathons 2017 Near Winchester VA 

Before we fill our stomachs at a nice Thanksgiving dinner, the fall season is a great time to be outside and run around. Along with the holidays coming up soon, another fun tradition people do around this time of year is participate in marathons before the weather gets too cold. For November, we wanted to highlight a few of the upcoming Turkey Trots and Thanksgiving marathons for 2017 near Winchester, VA.  

LVCC Turkey Trot 5K 

The first Turkey Trot to take place in the area this year is the LVCC Turkey Trot 5K in Purcellville, VA. This is the 13th annual Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Run, and will raise proceeds to benefit the Loudoun Valley Community Center Advisory Board. If you didn’t save a few bucks by registering before Oct. 24, you can still register now for $35 before the race on Nov. 12.  

Berryville Turkey Trot 

Another upcoming Turkey Trot race is the one hosted on Nov. 18, in Berryville, VA. This is the oldest race in the area, with this year’s event being the 39th race. Depending on your preparation, there will also be three races to participate in, with each registration fee coming in at just $13.

Shenandoah Valley Girls on the Run 5K 

Also taking place on Nov. 18, in Winchester, VA, is the Shenandoah Valley Girls on the Run 5K. Girls on the Run features volunteers and coaches from all over to help inspire girls to be themselves. The upcoming Girls on the Run 5K helps promote health and fitness in order to make a positive impact in many girls’ lives.
