As many people in the Virginia area know, the turn from summer to fall means it’s time for the apple harvest. Returning once again this year on September 15-16, the annual Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival is again being held at the Frederick County Fairgrounds, expected to bring in more than 7,500 people! Let’s take a look at what’s in store for the 2018 Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival.  

Two bushels of applesFor those who don’t know, the Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival is a large community event that celebrates the harvest of apples in the community with plenty of fun and exciting apple-related events, as well as fun games, entertainment and shops. Proceeds for the event also go back to support local non-profits. In fact, more than $1 million has been raised over the life of the event thanks to attendees over the years.

Events at the Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival 

When it comes to the spirit of the festival, attendees will be able to participate in fun events such as the apple pie baking contest, of course, the apple pie eating contest, or even enjoy various kinds of food and drinks to complement your visit.  

There will also be other exciting events such as the antique car show, the kid-zone area, dog obstacle course, as well as plenty of shops with work from more than 100 artisans on display.
