Resetting the Honda Maintenance Light: 3 Easy Ways
Depending on the model year and model of Honda vehicle you own, the way to reset the oil reminder is different. Despite using different methods, however, every Honda vehicle needs to be in Run/ACC mode (where all systems except your engine are on) to work. This is the step before actually starting your vehicle. Let’s get to it.
Here’s how to reset your Honda vehicle’s oil maintenance light.
Schedule a Service Appointment

Reset Button Method
Press the Reset button/knob (or Select button for some models) until you get to the engine oil option; it’ll be listed as either Engine Oil Life or Engine Oil Indicator %
Press and hold the Reset (or Select) button for 10 seconds; the engine oil indicator will begin to blink
For Engine Oil Life models:
Press the Info button
Press the Reset (or Select) button to reset oil life to 100%
For Engine Oil Indicator % models:
Press and hold the Reset (or Select) for at least five seconds to reset oil life to 100%
Touchscreen Method
Navigate to the Home menu
Go to Vehicle Settings
Go to Maintenance Info
Press Reset
A confirmation screen will pop-up; press Reset
Trip Button Method
Press the trip stalk until oil life is displayed
Press and hold the trip stalk down until oil life flashes
Release the trip stalk once oil life starts flashing
Press trip stalk again; oil life should change to 100%
