How to Prevent Getting Car Sick

Everyone gets sick at some point in their life. Along with the common cold or flu, many people also get car sick due to the motion of the vehicle. While car sickness is most common among younger kids and pregnant women, anyone can get car sick. Along with medicine we can take to feel better, there are also a few tricks people can use to prevent getting car sick. Let’s take a look.

Many times, in order to pass the time on longer trips, many people are looking at their phones, playing games, watching movies or reading books. However, this kind of sensory overload, along with eye strain and the movement of the vehicle is a common cause of car sickness. Because of this, be sure to take a break from these and look out the window or focus your attention elsewhere.

Eat Well and Eat Enough

Those who are hungry and haven’t eaten during a trip can also be prone to car sickness, so be sure to eat a good meal and have a full stomach before hitting the road. However, some bad and greasy foods might have the opposite effect and make you feel sicker, so be careful of what you eat.

Get Fresh Air

Sometimes while sick, people just need some fresh air. If you’re feeling sick in the car, try to get a window seat and get some fresh air by opening the window to help settle your stomach.
