Technology such as smartphones are becoming more and more ingrained into our daily lives. Through smartphones, it is simple to connect with friends and family, as well as look up information only limited by your imagination. However, when the use of cell phones becomes too common, a lot of drivers are guilty of using their phones while driving a car. We wanted to remind you of the various dangers of texting and driving.

While some drivers think they can quickly do things such as respond to a text or look up a restaurant, no matter what you do, looking at your phone takes your eyes off of the road. Without knowing what’s ahead, collisions and accidents are very likely to occur. Even instances of texting back at a red stoplight can disrupt the traffic around you.

Last month was Distracted Driving Awareness Month, where the National Safety Council raised awareness to put an end to driving while distracted behind the wheel. To bring see a few resolutions to driving distracted behind the wheel, you can watch the video released by the National Safety Council.

Even car manufacturers such as Honda got behind the idea of Distracted Driving Awareness Month, where they created comedic rap video encouraging drivers to have another passenger respond to urgent texts for you as a “designated texter.”
