Though minivans are not as popular as they once were, you still have a few models to choose from. These include the 2024 Honda Odyssey and the 2024 Toyota Sienna. The 2024 Odyssey is well-regarded for its enthusiast-oriented driving experience and powerful V6 engine. However, the 2024 Sienna presents a formidable set of features to consider.
To help you make up your mind, we’ll run a Honda vs Toyota comparison. We’ll see which minivan has the best interior. Then, we’ll check out their respective safety suites. Finally, we’ll match up their performance capabilities. Then, you’ll have enough information to make the right decision on a new minivan.
You can also explore the 2024 Odyssey range at CMA’s Honda of Winchester in Winchester, VA. Our team will gladly take you through the available trims and options.
The 2024 Honda Odyssey and the 2024 Toyota Sienna have spacious eight-seat interiors with over 160 cubic feet of passenger space. The 2024 Sienna even offers a premium seven-seat captain chair option. However, you can achieve a similar outcome with every 2024 Odyssey, as it has Honda’s Magic Slide® second-row seats. These three individual seats can be repositioned and even removed from the vehicle one at a time. You can’t do this with the 2024 Sienna’s seats.
Then, every 2024 Odyssey has active noise cancellation for a refined cabin experience. Furthermore, active engine mounts are present, helping quell vibrations from the powertrain. The 2024 Sienna doesn’t have these refinements. However, both minivans have around 33 cubic feet of cargo capacity. You can augment this by folding their third and second rows of seats. Here, the 2024 Odyssey offers a One-Motion 60-40 split-folding Magic Seat® for the third row. Then, you can totally remove its second-row seats for over 150 cubic feet of total cargo capacity. The 2024 Sienna can’t match this. Finally, higher trims of the 2024 Odyssey include a power-operated tailgate.
The 2024 Odyssey’s interior is kept comfortable by standard three-zone automatic climate control. All three rows have air vents, and the second row has a set of controls, too. Power-adjustable front seats are standard as well. Heated and ventilated front seats are available, as is leather upholstery. The 2024 Sienna has some of these features.
Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard for both models. They also include Bluetooth® hands-free and wireless audio. Buyers can also specify a 550-watt premium sound system plus a rear entertainment system. Honda offers its CabinWatch® and CabinTalk® systems for higher 2024 Odyssey trims. These allow the driver to visually monitor third-row occupants and communicate with them if required. Hence, it is a helpful feature for parents to keep tabs on young children who are in the third row. The 2024 Sienna doesn’t offer these features.
Every 2024 Odyssey gets a 280-hp 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6. The engine can provide up to 262 lb-ft of torque and is connected to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Moreover, all trims get steering wheel-mounted gear shift paddles. While the 2024 Odyssey is front-wheel drive, it includes a standard Intelligent Traction Management system. This also provides a dedicated Snow mode. Other standard features include Honda’s Eco Assist™ system and hill start assist.
Toyota only offers the 2024 Sienna with a hybrid powertrain. The system comprises a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine plus two electric motors and a CVT gearbox. It can provide up to 245 horsepower and can be specified with front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
Every 2024 Odyssey gets Honda’s comprehensive Sensing® suite of active and passive safety systems. Highlights include forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking. An adaptive cruise control system, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance are also standard. Then, buyers can expect a driver attention monitor, traffic sign recognition, and a road departure mitigation system. Meanwhile, the 2024 Sienna has Toyota’s Safety Sense™ 2.0 suite, which is an older iteration. Hence, it isn’t as well-equipped.
The 2024 Honda Odyssey is a winning minivan and one you’ll look forward to driving every day. Why not check it out for yourself? Come to CMA’s Honda of Winchester and ask for a test drive. Then, you can see how the 2024 Odyssey feels to drive and live with. When you’re ready to take one home, we’ll help you evaluate financing choices.
