What is under the hood of the Honda Pilot?
There is a lot of power to be had with the Honda Pilot as every trim comes with a solid 3.6-liter V6 engine that pumps out a massive 280 horsepower and a terrific 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine connects to a smooth nine-speed automatic transmission that provides you with one of the smoothest rides even in an SUV. With the first couple of trims, front-wheel-drive is the default setup with the option of all-wheel-drive for better traction. When you reach the top two trims, the Elite and the Black Edition, it has all-wheel-drive standard. This is undoubtedly a powerful engine, but drivers would expect nothing less from the Pilot!
The World-Class Features of the Pilot
There are five trim levels available for the Pilot, and each one comes with an outstanding amount of features. We start with the base level EX-L trim, which has some of the best features we have seen on a base level trim as it comes with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, a sunroof, heated mirrors, remote engine start, a power liftgate, and proximity keyless entry. In addition, there are plenty of tech features available for the EX-L trim, as well as you can get an auto-dimming rearview mirror, driver’s seat memory settings, heated front seats, leather upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a seven-speaker audio system. The advanced SE is next, which mixes in 0-inch wheels, roof rails, a hands-free liftgate, and a wireless charging pad. The highest trims of the Pilot, the Touring, and the Elite have more performance-enhanced features such as a Wi-Fi hotspot, a cabin intercom system, ambient interior lighting, sound-reducing windows, heated steering wheel, second-row captain chairs, and a rear entertainment system.
Safety Systems for the 2022 Pilot
Not only is the 2022 Pilot very well-equipped and powerful, but it also comes with some of the best available safety systems on the market. For example, each trim comes with a Lane Keeping Assist system that will course correct the Pilot back into its lane if it happens to drift outside the painted lines. You also get an Adaptive Cruise Control system to help the massive SUV keep a pre-set distance between it and all vehicles ahead. Then there is the Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear Cross Path detection that will monitor the areas around your Pilot and let you know when traffic is there so you can make safer lane changes.
